Initially your password has a specific format for both on- and off-campus students. On-campus students are required to change their password after logging on for the first time. Off-campus/online students will have to change their password via the web. Your network password will expire every 365 days.
On-Campus:
1. Log onto a campus computer
a. Network Account User Name (email, Brightspace, network storage space)
Three initials, a zero, and the last 4 digits of your SJF ID # (often referred to as the @number)
b. Old Password - (first time log on)
The first letter of your FIRST NAME (lower case) +
The character "!" +
The first letter of your LAST NAME (lower case) +
The character "$" +
The first 2 digits of the last 4 numbers of your SJF ID # +
The character " # " +
The last 2 digits of the last 4 numbers of your SJF ID #
The character " * " +
The 2 digits of your birth month
c. Within the Log on Message dialog box, required to change your password at first log on, click on OK.
d. Network Account Password Requirements; when prompted to change your password follow the criteria below:
- Password is at least 12 characters long.
- Password contains characters from at least three of the following categories:
- English uppercase characters (A - Z)
- English lowercase characters (a - z)
- Numeric digits (0 - 9)
- Non-alphanumeric (for example: !, $, #, or %)
- Password does not contain three or more consecutive characters from the user's account name

Go to the Network Account Password Change page to change your initial SJF password and enter the following information.
a. Network Account User Name (email, Brightspace, lab computers)
